Syfy will invade the world’s largest pop culture convention this summer with SYFY PRESENTS LIVE FROM COMIC-CON, a three-night telecast directly from the heart of San Diego Comic-Con. The special – Syfy’s first-ever live broadcast from Comic-Con – will air on the network Thursday, July 21 through Saturday, July 23 at 8/7c. Actor Will Arnett (“Flaked,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”) will host Syfy’s first ever three-night telecast of SYFY PRESENTS LIVE FROM COMIC-CON. TV News: The CW Network Orders New MADtv Primetime Series With Eight New Episodes

The Emmy Award-winning sketch comedy series MADtv is returning to television, making the jump to primetime with eight all-new one-hour episodes on The CW Network; a premiere date and time for the series, from Telepictures, will be announced at a later date. Having the opportunity to speak with some of the Sleepy Hollow cast at this year’s WonderCon was a treat and this year I got to speak to Nikki Reed, Jessica Camacho, executive producer Clifton Campbell, Zach Appelman, and Lyndie Greenwood. These cast members were optimal as each of their story arcs are quite interesting and three of them are new(er) to this third season. Nikki Reed, who plays the iconic Betsy Ross, and Jessica Camacho, who plays FBI Agent Sophie Foster, are both new characters this season; Zach Appelman returns as Joe Corbin and spreads his proverbial wings when he gets more involved in the supernatural realm that Ichabod, Abbie, and Jenny have all been immersed in. Appelman’s character Joe also explores a new relationship with Greenwood’s closed off Jenny Mills.

Despite the numerous times I’ve conducted round table interviews, I always have a touch of nerves when asking questions. Thankfully, each cast member and Rothenberg were absolutely delightful to talk to. I could listen to Morley and Taylor talk all day with their awesome Aussie accents. Larkin is quite funny and he mentioned how he varies from his character Monty in that he isn’t so tech savvy showing us his flip phone…yes, a flip phone.

He’s quite animated and you can tell he’s having a blast on the series. Both Lotz and Renée were lovely and I learned that Lotz actually wanted to be a stunt woman before she caught the acting bug.

At first glance, I thought this might be a “Dorian Gray” type of scenario but it’s vastly different than I originally suspected. The Wesen known as “Musasat Alsh-Shabab” suck the beauty from its victims and the so-called ‘essence’ or “Yanbue” extracted is this highly addictive white goop (that looks like something else that starts with the letter ‘j’ and rhymes with ‘fizz.’ Gross.

“Silence of the Slams” takes us into the world of Mexican wrestling with “luchadors” vying for the spotlight of the square ring. Young (human) wrestler Goyo (Joseph Julian Soria) is tired of playing the loser to top billed luchadors like “El Mayordomo” (Sal Guerro). What makes “Silence of the Slams” so intriguing is Goyo’s moral dilemma, as well the mask-maker Benito’s (Danny Mora). As Benito warns Goyo about wanting to pursue more power in the ring, he also tries to deter him from seeking notoriety. Fame isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be; there is always a price to pay.
